The yin and yang approach to Acid and Alkaline Diet and Ingredients.

When you can precisely recognize acid and alkaline ingredients, you can personalize a balance of food combinations to match your energy and health needs. The reference point to acid and alkaline ingredients is not based on the ph western table. The table of alkaline and acid is based on the circular measure from the yin and yang. One thing is more acid or more alkaline in relationship to the others, and the main patterns to measure come from nature: water, fire, earth, air, and organics. One thing is relative to another in the circular relationship between them.

Not all diets are for everyone.  Selecting the right diet for you is the first step toward better cell regeneration.

Before you start a diet, you need, first and foremost, to relate the knowledge of acidic vs. alkaline foods to your body type, life style, time of the day, time of the year and to how you feel in order to determine if you are in need of additional acidic foods or, perhaps, additional alkaline foods.  

As a main rule, orange and green vegetables are alkaline; roots are mainly alkaline too. Fruits are mainly on the acid side with few exceptions.  Also, you need to consider what you previously ate.  Why?  Because you are alive... and continually food processing.

We know from the study of chemistry that the principles of acid and alkaline are very important in relation to the foods we eat.  Just mix lemon juice with baking soda; the violent reaction that occurs is an example of what happens when two opposites combine.

The principle of acid and alkaline is not new.  It can be found in eastern medicine represented as the principle of the yin and yang.  To explain it in a simple way, you need to start with the understanding that all things are relative: a given food may be more acidic (yin) when compared to one group but the same food may be more alkaline (yang) when compared to another group.

To apply this principle correctly you need to learn to balance these two opposites.  It is also a question of bringing balance to your lifestyle, to your personal situation and to your goals.  Your diet cannot be independent of the rest of you, of the rest of your life.  Your diet needs direction to increase the possibilities for your body and for the development of your life along your days.  Your diet needs to relate to you directly and that is one of the reasons why it is important that you follow a diet that is for you, and not the diet that your neighbor is doing just because it works for him or her.  Your diet is a direct representation of self-love and self-esteem; your diet represents your level of hygiene and self care of the inner body  - it is not something that is just externally directed.

Our body is mainly on the acid side, since most of the foods that our society consumes in good quantities are mainly acid. Don't forget that we are what we eat.  When referring to this diet, it will seem that the more alkaline foods will be the best to be consumed, but that is not true.  Again: Balance.  You can combine acid and alkaline ingredients in your dish which will be the best digested if you are starting with a balanced ph in your body.

There are symptoms associated with an acid ph in the body and there are another set of symptoms associated with an alkaline ph in the body.  When you know better, you can distinguish and take action.  If you are too acidic, something more alkaline will bring balance.  If you are too alkaline, something more acidic will provide balance. Then you will recover strength and well-being.

Balance!  Balance!  Balance!  Better balance is a matter of practice.  Practice standing on one foot.  At first it may not seem easy but each day you will do it better, and each day's improvement will be a measure of who are today.  Regenerate those cells!
